Who doesn’t know or hasn’t heard of Zoona? If you haven’t please come out of that rock you’ve been hiding under. This one small money transfer company seems to be expanding everyday. They have the Sunga account, which acts as a mini bank account and like most banking institutions have launched the ZoonApp.
The ZoonApp is a digital wallet available on smartphones specifically android phones for now and can easily be shared using SHAREit.
The ZoonApp, being a wallet has functions from sending and receiving money, buying airtime for yourself to anyone else across all networks. So far the app has no Vodafone airtime or other bill payment options (as tried on 12.12.2017). For you to deposit money into the wallet, you have to visit a teller just like when sending money except this time you are depositing in your wallet.
Further, if you are sending money using the app, there is discount on your sending fee. Which is good right?
At the moment, you can not send money directly from your bank or pay utility bills unfortunately. Although not possible, this option is likely to come through in the next versions of the app. Currently the ‘link bank card’ option is available but just not yet active.
So for now, lets give them the credit for the step taken and wait for the improvement in the app. Beside, it’s just the first release, like any other first release, its not all good but user friendly.
One cool feature when you install the app and going through the 8 steps registration process, is that there is a spin and win option.
The spin and win option comes up with a maximum of K20 which is automatically deposited into your wallet. You can use it even before you do the actual money deposit. At least I tried it a got myself some airtime.
Trust me the registration process does not take long, it’s even faster if you have good data connection.
With such innovation and transformation in its service delivery, whats next from Zoona?
